Stoicism and Seneca’s Philosophy Stoicism is a philosophy that has been practiced by many people across different cultures. Some of them practice poverty as a way to achieve happiness and contentment. Some of the most famous Stoics are Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Seneca, and Cato. They all practiced poverty in one way or another. Stoicism is not just about practicing poverty but also about being indifferent to external events and focusing on internal peace.
