Sundowning

Sundowning Sundowning is a phenomenon that occurs in Alzheimer's disease. It is a time of day when the person with Alzheimer's becomes more agitated and confused. The symptoms often include increased confusion, anxiety, hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, and wandering. The cause of sundowning is not yet known but it has been hypothesized that the disruption in circadian rhythms may be linked to the onset of sundowning.
